Continuation Italian Class
What You'll Learn
The Continuation is a 2 module course, so if this is the first time you attend the Continuation, you will have another module to attend after this. Those who already attended 2 Continuation modules are ready to go to the Intermediate 1.
During our Continuation, topics explored during the previous course are extended, therefore we will revise a lot of grammar we previously studied and we will take it from there. Students are continuously encouraged to speak in Italian and apply the new learned grammar in practical conversation. New vocabulary and grammar are immediately implemented in new situations such as describing people, houses and furniture, talking about family, weather, past holidays and past week-ends.
Grammar wise, during our modules, we aim to tackle the following topics:
- Adjectives (primo e secondo tipo, il cane nero, la donna intelligente), possessive adjectives (la mia macchina, il nostro cane), demonstrative adjectives and adjectives that precede the noun (quel bambino, quella bambina, il bel vestito, etc.).
- La famiglia nouns and rules (mia madre è intelligente, la mia bella madre è intelligente).
- Verb piacere and other irregular verbs.
- Prepositional articles (nella, sul, → on the, to the, etc.).
- Passato Prossimo (sono andato/a, ho mangiato → I went, I ate).
- Partitivo (dello, qualche, alcuni → some, a few).
We will implement them in new conversational tasks such as role playing in real life situations and listening activities.
What to Expect
This class picks up where Beginners left off. You'll work in pairs and small groups, practise real dialogue, and gain confidence in expressing yourself naturally in Italian.
At the end of each class, you'll receive an email with notes from that day's lesson, materials used, PDF pages and optional homework.
Who Is This For?
- Students who've completed Italian Beginners (or equivalent)
- People who can introduce themselves and handle basic conversations but want more
- Learners returning to Italian after a short break who want to pick up where they left off
